About us

  • The Gisborne Bushwalking Club commenced in 1982 and has offered walks continually since then.
  • The membership is drawn largely from the Macedon Ranges region and from around Sunbury. However, some members also reside in Melbourne suburbs.
  • The average age of members is now around 60 years and younger walkers are being encouraged to join so as to continue the Club into the future.
  • Activities now center on day walks to suit the current age demographic. However, a return to activities involving pack carrying and overnight camping  would be supported if younger members so preferred.
  • Victorian and interstate base camps are popular in which cabin accommodation is usually arranged for periods from a  weekend to a week or more.
  • The aims of the Club are to encourage fellowship, good humour and a healthy lifestyle.
